Crazy Hair - June 16 2009

We discovered a new way to do the boys hair. Colby has a fascination with the vacuum, he will follow who ever is vacuuming around. If you set it down he quickly claims it for his own. This child has no fear of loud noises actually he gravitates to them. My parents have a central vac which means the hose plugs into the wall and everything is sucked out to the garage. One day Grandma was vacuuming all the edges and while she was moving around she caught his hair. What proceeded was a fun time playing with the Vacuum. Don't worry all hair involved was thoroughly washed after this episode.
Colby enjoying the feeling of the Vacuum on his head.
After the first time, he kept sticking his head under it.

Sticking straight up! Who couldn't love that face!

Conner's liked to flop to the side.

Colin's had the hardest time staying up, I think because his hair is so thick.

Conner Turns 4

Conner Fry

Now on to the other special person at this combined birthday Party. Conner was actually born on the 29th of May but he loved that he got to share his Party with Colby. Conner is my outside guy, he has no fear of holding bugs and loves exploring. He loves to eat everything right off the plants especially strawberries, he would just walk around eating them and when the rest of us wanted some there weren't any there. Conner loves animals and says he wants to be a doctor of Animals (his way of saying vet) but of course Army Guy isn't too far down on that list. He is a great little helper out in the Garden and takes special care of any worms that we find. He is also a great big brother, he is always watching out for Colby and entertaining him.

Conner and Mom: Gotta love the Frosting

Opening Presents: Of course Colin is there to help

Wagon Ride: Brianna, Laura and Conner

This is actually another day but I forgot to take a picture of him and his new bike, I was filming instead. He loves it and as you can see loves bubbles too (another present).

Colby 1st Birthday - May 21

Colby had his First Birthday on May 19th because of schedules we had a combined birthday party for him and Conner on the 21st. I have to say that this was thrown together at the last minute because we had been in Utah the weekend before.

This is a photo from the day Colby left the hospital, I knew that we had a very special boy on our hands but over the last year I have come to see what an amazing personality he has. He is my on the Go boy, he wants to do everything. And has no fear, which sometimes worries me. He started taking steps at 11 months and by his birthday he was walking on his own with no looking back. He watches his older brothers and tries to follow them when possible. He loves balls! He also loves being outside, if their is a door open he will find it. If not he stands there pointing. He also loves the dogs, he will go right up to Sunshine my mom's St. Bernard and Gemma Sierra's yellow lab. He lays by Izzy the dachshund and loves petting her. For all his energy he is really gentle with her. He is all ready trying to climb on everything and would probably be in the trees with his brother's if he could.
Colby, is constantly trying to communicate especial since he turned 1 he talks and acts like we should understand him. There are quite a few words that he has picked up on, Outside being his favorite.

I really thought hard on what to do for his cake, and monkey was the perfect image. That is my nickname for him, it describes his energy and his curiosity perfectly.

He had no problem jumping right in especially with his brothers to show him how! He loves Cake!

What a Boy!

I couldn't believe how caked (no pun intended) his hand got.

Trying to share his messy face with me.

The perfect present - a BALL!!

He let his brothers open his presents but enjoyed playing with them afterwords.

P.S. Conner's half of the Party to come on next post!

Charlie Safari - May 21, 2009

There is a really cool place here in Olympia that we finally had a chance to visit, for free, yeah!! My Dad received a free family pass because he is only the Lacey Chambers of Commerce. It was a great deal because it gave me a chance to see what they had. I will defiantly take my kids back especially during the winter when they need to burn excess energy. They had a huge indoor play area with slides and tunnels, many different bouncers and miniature golf. They also had Laser Tag but I decided to wait until the boys are bigger to do that.....not that they didn't beg. So here are a few photos, all I got because I was having to much fun playing with the boys.
Colin hanging off a Palm Tree!

Colin going over the top of the roof and Conner crawling through the Tunnel.

For a boy that had just started walking a couple weeks before he had great balance.

Colby up in the play area, he really wasn't sure what to do. But he got the hang of it.

Saturday of our trip to Utah we headed up into Big Cottonwood Canyon for a family hike. My dad grew up in Salt Lake and loves these Mountains. So we always try and make time to have a picnic or hike when in Utah.
Grandpa carrying Colby. Thanks Dan and Brittany for letting us use your carrier.
Sierra and Conner
She drove down from BYU-Idaho to be with us for the weekend always a treat to see her.

Utah - Liberty Park May 15, 2009

One of my favorite memories from our trips to Utah is walking to Liberty Park with my Grandpa Burton. It used to have this great wooden playground which has now been torn down. But they still have a couple of small rides from my childhood days. So know when ever we go to Utah I always make a point of going to liberty park with my boys. They have now added a new park and water features that are amazing. Unfortunately the miniature rivers that they have were not on but the water in the park area was and we had fun playing and enjoying family.

Colin and Conner in front of the old Ferris wheel!

Abby swing and Colby playing peek a boo.

Conner contemplating getting wet.

Colin realizing he is all wet, it wasn't hot just warm.....

Finding a nice sunny spot to warm up in.
Sierra and Colby he had just started to walk on his own.

This was the closest thing to a happy picture with all three boys.

Ok I know lots of pictures but isn't this cute.

Trip to Utah - Day 1 : Dan's Graduation - May 15, 2009

So I am a bit behind....well a month and a half behind and I could least all the reasons but there are so many I would bore you.
To start off I am posting pictures of my older brothers graduation from University of Utah's Law School. I had been looking for a reason to go to Utah to see him and his family, and this was the perfect excuse. Dan and Brittany have a daughter, Abby a month younger the Colby that I hadn't met and they had met Colby either. The first day was his graduation, and thanks to my Aunt Holly I was able to go with out three kids in tow. I am so grateful for my brother and his example of hard work and dedication.
Daniel is the third one in....
