Camping Day 2 - August 18, 2009

Colby & Colin were up at 7:30 am, not my sleepy head Conner.
He slept until almost 9:00am

Colby loved the tire swing!

Camping Day 1 - August 17, 2009

Camping at Zion's Camp

Helping Grandpa set up the Tent.

Colby, practicing his skipping......
* This photo caught with camera set to multiple shots.

Grandpa and Colin trying to decided if it is warm enough to swim.

Conner is very hands on...
he pulled this log out on the bank and dragged around to the dock so he could push it off and watch it float back to shore again.

Colby wouldn't go near the water at first but eventually he scooted right in.

My outdoor boy, Conner loves the dirt...and it loves him.

What is camping with out smores... Colby got dried fruit.
Colby was so tired by this point that he was just chilling and ready for bed.

Sierra showing of her love for little things.....

After Grandpa walked Colby to sleep, we laid him down in the van, so the boys wouldn't wake him. I slept back there with him. One reason I love my van all the back seats lay flat with out taking any of them out.

Painting - July 8th 2009

So after Tait painted that house, we had quite a few green shutters that needed to be painted blue to match the porch. And when you have that many shutters you need extra workers so we finally gave into the boys pleadings to help paint......the grass had blue strips on it for about a week or so until it was finally mowed.

Conner

Even Colby... lucky for us he didn't realize he didn't have paint...but he sure enjoyed putting the brush in and out of his little bucket.

Tait with the main house painted just needed the white trim.
I thought I had a finished picture but I will have to add that later.

David working on the Trim, with Conner looking on.

Ok here is a shot with the white trim...
Oh and yes that is me power spraying the boat,

Swimming at Zion's camp - August 1, 2009

We made it to August....Finally.
I am sure most of you reading out there are tired of the past and would love to hear about the present. For instance today....but wait I get ahead of myself. We have tried to stay busy this summer but for the most part we have just relaxed around the house, started and finished some projects...just started others. And I worked for Panorama selling ads for the resident directory. A great summer job and I plan on making it a tradition since it is mostly mailing out order forms, phone calls and lets me stay at home. Some have asked how school is going but I took the summer off after I finished my AA last spring. I have decided to put becoming a elementary librarian on hold because there wasn't any way to do it online and I would have to commute to UW Tacoma. So this quarter I am taking some programming classes to find out if I would have interest/ understanding in that...we have a neighbor that programs from home. And I am looking into doing an online business degree through Western WA University. I am thinking about starting an interactive children's bookstore....well in 2 or 3 years. But that is a DREAM still and I have lots of ideas for it. I just need to learn the business side of things and see if it has any possibilities.

On to the pictures in this post...this was one of the best days this summer for me personally well besides our camping trip....oops still trying to skip ahead. Sierra came home from BYU-I at the end of July and Tait came with her, then he flew home from here to Minnesota. He was only supposed to be here for 4 days but my Dad gave him a job painting our house and he became our personal painter. (More about painting on another post) So after a couple days of prep and painting Friday and Saturday morning, Tait finished the main area of painting. So Grandpa, Sierra, Tait, Colin, Conner and I headed out to Zion's camp to get cooled off...it had been over 100 degrees earlier that week. (Unfortunately all of us except Tait, Grandpa, Grandma and Colby had the stomach flu during that heat) Grandma stayed home with Colby because she was feeling under the weather and it was better for Colby to stay out of the heat. It was a treat to swim with the big boys and give them my undivided attention. Well now after that lengthy explanation I bet you are dying for some pictures...so with out further ado....

Colin really wanted to out to the floating dock...
he was able to swim with the life vest all by himself. Of course Grandpa wasn't far away.

Conner sneaking some snacks!

After seeing Colin out on the floating dock, Conner had to go out too.
But he is on my back, he was just a little more nervous.

One reason I love my camera....it will take multiple pictures at a time.
So #1

Chucky Cheese - July 24, 2009

Chucky Cheese

We were invited to attend a friends birthday at Chucky Cheese...all the boys loved it. Including Colby, he went after any steering wheel he could find. Yet again pictures tell a better story...though I didn't get as many as I would like because I was following 3 boys around.
Thanks Odds for such a great time!!!

What a great group of kids.....

Colby loved this tractor from Bob the Builder.

Conner was nice to let Colby watch while he played...Colby just wanted the steering wheel.

The Boys and I

See he just wanted the steering wheel!

Clean Dogs - July 6, 2009

Many of you know that my parents have dogs, all sizes, a little dachshund Izzy, middle sized Yellow lab, Gemma and the Big Saint Bernard, Sunshine. Well my boys have no fear of them, and that includes Colby. He has loved the dogs from the beginning... Well my Mom washed the big dogs one day and allowed them in to the laundry room to dry and immediately my boys were all over them.
It is not often the big dogs are in the house...so this was a treat.

Sunshine didn't even care that all three boys were sitting on her, she just loved the attention. Gemma is just chilling in the background.
