Sept. 3 ~ Mt Rainer Hike

Friday we went up to Paradise at Mt Rainer and went for a short hike. The day was perfect. Sunny and warm, even that high up. The boys are becoming quite the climbers and loved the time with David and Sierra. This was our last outing before they headed back to Idaho and Utah for school.

Sierra, Colin, Conner and David checking out the river.

Taking a picture of David taking a picture of Sierra.
I loved how it turned out!

Sept. 2 ~ Mini Golf in the Dark

We were trying to think of some fun activities before we lost David and Sierra to School and the boys started school. We found this great mini golf place in Olympia that is done in the dark with black lights. It was really amazing and fun! We all enjoyed it!!

Colin is really starting to get the concept.

Even Colby loved it! He really wanted to help everyone!

Those feet belong to Conner we were looking for a lost ball.
We decided he was Jonah being swallowed by a whale.

The Boys and the Elephant.
Colby wouldn't get near it.

David did get him near the Chimpanzee, he is gripping on pretty tight though.

The boys and the gorilla.

Sierra matches the Cheetah.

Conner loved this hole, he kept going over and over.

The Group, Colby really wanted to help Grandma.

Day 6 ~ Swimming and Liberty Park

Tuesday we packed up the Cabin and headed back into Salt Lake City. We took the afternoon to swim with Great Grandma Joann at her pool. (My grandma, boys great grandma) And then we headed to Liberty Park. A must for me if I am in Utah, my Grandpa used to walk us there whenever we visited him. It has changed over the years but I still love it and want my kids to have memories of it, since they will not know him. I was able to meet a few of my cousins there since I hadn't had time to get around to see anyone. Thanks for coming there guys!!

Colin and Corbin, they came to WA to see us the year before

Day 6 ~ Timpanogos Caves

I wanted to have everything up to date by the time school arrived. Which happen 2 weeks ago for the boys and this week for me. So here I am taking a break from studying to upload these pictures. On Monday after doing family pictures we hiked up to Timpanogo's Caves. Let me tell you it was not an easy hike, even though the path was paved. And I am glad that we decided to not take Colby on it with us. Grandma was nice enough to put him down for a nap while we were gone. It was a mile and a half up to the caves and it was steep. I am not a hiker and I fulfilled my hikes for the year while in Utah and I was very grateful for the help and encouragement the boys received from David, Sierra, Hava and Brigg, and not to forget Grandpa. The caves were amazing and cool after the hot hike and we all enjoyed them.

Day 6 ~ Family Pictures

I insisted that we take some group shots with the shirts that we made for the reunion. Making the shirts was a blast and everyone's was unique except for the outline of Timpanogos Mountain and the name BURTON. I had fun taking them and learned that I need to still work on the lighting of my pictures. Would it bad to blame it on my flash? It died....but I should have watched the shadows better when placing everyone. Yes in this first picture Brigg look like a giant but he was standing on a slope so we didn't notice until later. Hava actually comes up to his shoulder in reality.
